Lafayette Schools' FCU Board of Directors elections will be held at the Annual Meeting on April 09, 2010. In the event that there is more than one nominee for each position to be filled, elections will be conducted by ballot at our Lafayette, Crowley and New Iberia locations, on April 5th and 6th, 2010 and upon registration at the Annual Meeting on April 09, 2010. As required by the LSFCU bylaws, the chairman has appointed a nominating committee to present a slate of candidates to the members. The nominating committee has this date placed the following people in nomination for a three-year term on the Board of Directors for the three available positions.

Allen A. Dugas (incumbent)

Mr. Dugas is a current member of the Board of Directors of Lafayette Schools' Federal Credit Union. He has been a Board member for 49 years. Mr. Dugas was selected by the Louisiana Credit Union League as the 2005 Volunteer of the Year. Mr. Dugas retired after 36 years of service with the Lafayette Parish School System where he served in various positions – teacher, assistant principal, principal, and head of the Personnel Department. He served as a member of the Lafayette Parish School Board for 4 years. Mr. Dugas is a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. He is a lifelong resident of Lafayette Parish and is married to the former Mary Ann Comeaux. Mr. Dugas has a Bachelors Degree from the University of Louisiana and a Masters plus 30 from Louisiana State University and the University of Louisiana.

Judy H. Cox (incumbent)

Mrs. Cox is the current Secretary of the Board of Directors of Lafayette Schools' Federal Credit Union. She has been a Board member for 12 years. Mrs. Cox retired after 32 years of service with the Lafayette Parish School System where she served in various positions – teacher, assistant principal, and principal. She served as a member of the Lafayette Parish School Board for 8 years. Judy is very active in the community serving on many boards such as Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Board, UL Alumni Council,

Goodwill Industries Board of Directors and the Council on Aging to name a few. She is married to Tom Cox and has 2 sons and five grandchildren. Mrs. Cox has a BA in Business and Health & Physical Education from Kentucky Wesleyan College. She has a MA in Administration and Supervision from the University of Louisiana.

Nominations for vacancies may also be made by petition signed by 1% of the membership of LSFCU. To be effective, such nominations must be accompanied by a signed certificate from the nominee stating that they are agreeable to nomination and will serve if elected to office. Elections will not be conducted by ballot if there is only one nominee for each position and committee nominees will be ratified at the Annual Meeting.
