Community Partners

Recent Community Involvement Highlights

The Meritus Credit Union employee volunteer program assists local non-profits with the manpower they need to create positive outcomes! Check out the organizations our volunteer groups have supported below.

FoodNet

Our staff donated food items to the Food for Families Food Drive with FoodNet. The drive supports over 20 food pantries within 8 parishes of Acadiana. Visit FoodNet’s website to donate to their effort of “fighting hunger in our community.”

Foster the Love Louisiana

We contributed $500 to Foster the Love Louisiana's Pajama Drive with an additional $120 from our generous members. Our staff also donated 75 pairs of pajamas to be included in the foster children’s “First Nights Bags”. These bags are reusable overnight bags filled with clothing and hygiene essentials given to children as they enter care. Visit Foster the Love LA’s website for more information and learn how you can support their cause.

Girls on the Run

As a sponsor of Girls on the Run, we donated $2,500 to “provide program scholarships to girls at the Boys and Girls Club of Acadiana – Jackie Unit.” Read the full statement here and visit Boys and Girls Club of Acadiana’s website for more ways to get involved!

Parish Proud

We partnered with Parish Proud to contribute to their effort of keeping businesses, homes and neighborhoods clean in the Acadiana community. Visit Parish Proud’s website to learn how to get a free litter pick-up tool kit of your own!

Salvation Army

For over 10 years we have supported Salvation Army’s Angel Tree initiative to “Rescue Christmas” by donating Christmas gifts to hundreds of children. Staff members adopt an Angel Tree child and purchase Christmas gifts from their wish lists. In 2020, we donated gifts to 36 children! Visit Salvation Army’s website for more information on the Angel Tree program.

United Way of Acadiana

Through an internal Live United Giving campaign with United Way of Acadiana, our staff donated a grand total of $13,129.40! The money was raised by hosting interactive employee-involved activities, such as a Halloween costume contest, virtual auction and “car wash by your manager” events. Visit United Way of Acadiana's website for more information and find out how you can support their mission and services.
